Three
books with over 100 single syllable stories that are controlled for
both
orthography and narrative development. They follow the sequence of
instruction
of Reading By The Rules but are easily used by students
of
other reading programs.
These stories were written by Rob VanderMay, a
Reading
Specialist and WKRP program user, who began writing them for use with
his
students at Dearborn Academy in Arlington, Massachusetts.

Spanish Sound-Symbol Training Cards.
The Spanish images and scripts used on these cards
were
created by Stephanie Bernstein, a WKRP program user, while working in a
Boston area public school system. These are used for teaching the
phonemes
of the Spanish language.

WKRP's newest product, SST Playing Cards , is a deck of 55 cards with all of the WKRP Sound Symbol Training images. Each of your students can now have their own set of cards for practice or play. Get two decks, and play games like 'Go Fish' and 'Concentration'. This product is not a stand alone training tool, it is an adjunct to the "Reading by The Rules" program.
Judith Wisnia and Associates ("JWA") is a private group practice in speech, occupational and physical therapies which has been helping children since 1980. JWA provides WKRP staff training and certification programs as well as contracted direct services in school systems in Eastern Massachusetts. Our staff has provided direct services to over 2,000 children. Countless other children have received WKRP instruction from school teachers and individual practitioners and tutors.
The WKRP Programs were developed by Sharon Kapp,
a Boston
area speech language pathologist.
Ms. Kapp is on the faculty of the Massachusetts General Hospital's
Institute of Health Professionals.
