Ekko is a special German Shepherd Dog. In his last 3 years, he has had quite a tail to tell. He has had a lot of health issues on top of having an owner new to dogs all together! This site is meant to help new and old dog owners learn from the mistakes I've made in raising Ekko and figuring out his health issues. I hope you enjoy your stay at Ekko Canyon! Key information you are going to find on this site is based on my own research and my experiences with Ekko.  Main categories include allergies, EPI, and nutrition.  I also try to provide helpful links so you may see where I have obtained my information to form my opinions.  Too often, there are informational websites out there that make wild claims without any source information to back up the person's opinions.  I am going to try and avoid that on this site.  My goal is to give you the information you need to form your own opinion.

 

Finally,  always be sure to work with your veterinarian before changing any regimens in nutrition or health.  If you feel that your vet does not know enough,  it's time to find a new vet.  I went through 3 veterinarians before I found our current vet.  Sometimes we agree to disagree, but I have a very good relationship where I can call anytime and ask the vet questions.  You should expect no less from your veterinarian.
